Lorraine Kelly has shocked fans who were left floored by the sight of the presenter’s real name this week, as she shared her vaccination card after getting the Covid-19 jab.

The presenter may be simply known as ‘Lorraine’ to many who tune into her titular morning programe, however, to others she is Lorraine Kelly. Which is, er, her name, we guess.

But, going one step further, it seems a lot of punters didn’t know when she’s not on screen, Lorraine seemingly goes by her married name, which is Lorraine Smith, and that has well and truly baffled many of her followers this week.

Sharing a photo of herself proudly holding up her card on Sunday, Lorraine – who was wearing a branded mask – wrote: ‘Vaccinated! So relieved! Easy peasy – didn’t feel a thing – thanks so much to all the cheery volunteers and NHS staff who made it SO simple!!

‘Please please get vaccinated!! We are so lucky to have the opportunity Xxx.’

Her message may have been so important, however it was the 61-year-old’s name that had people doing a double take as they reacted to realising she goes by Smith – after marrying cameraman Steve Smith in 1992 – out in the big bad world.

‘Who’s Lorraine Smith,’ one follower mused under her photo, which kickstarted a lot of puzzled punters.

Another was clearly finding it a laugh she couldn’t escape the comparison to the presenter, as they wrote: ‘I had no idea your current surname was Smith!! My full name is Lauren Kelly & I’ve been called Lorraine Kelly (or LK today!!!) my entire life, my partners surname is Smith so I may also end up a smith one day. Twinning.’

It did seem some conspiracy theorists were around, as one wrote: ‘She’s holding someone else’s card, that says Lorraine smith.’

Another wrote: ‘Lorraine Smith lol how original,’ which heralded a reply from Lorraine: ‘Smith is my married name.’

While one brought up the famous HMRC tax case in which it was ruled Lorraine ‘plays a friendly character named Lorraine Kelly’ on her ITV show, writing: ‘Actress Lorraine Smith, famous for playing TV host Lorraine Kelly on ITV’s Lorraine, has been vaccinated!’

Lorraine is the latest UK celebrity to get the Covid-19 jab, getting it the same weekend her ITV mate Piers Morgan also received his vaccination.

Sharing the whole process in a video to his social media, the journalist mused it ‘wasn’t as painful as working with Susanna Reid’.

‘So here I am, I’m about to have my AstraZeneca jab, I’m that old!’ 55-year-old Piers said in the video. ‘And the doctor here, Tim, is going to be administering [it].’

Asked how many vaccines per day he’s given out, Tim responded: ‘Today, hopefully today [will be] about 560.’

‘It’s been an amazingly efficient operation. I’ve been whizzed through […] we were told exactly where to go, you’ve treated me like the idiot I am. Nothing was left to chance,’ the GMB star continued.

After having his jab, Piers added: ‘Very painless, in it goes, that’s it! Not even as painful as working with Susanna Reid!’
