Phillip Schofield didn’t waste any time in making a savage dig about Piers Morgan on today’s episode of This Morning after he stormed off-set on Good Morning Britain.
Piers dramatically walked out of the studio in the middle of a tense discussion with colleague Alex Beresford over his criticism of Meghan Markle.
‘I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle you’ve made that so clear a number of times on this programme,’ Alex had said.
‘I understand that you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or had one and she cut you off.
‘She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has but yet you continue to trash her.’
By this point, Piers stood up from the desk and walked off.

‘I’m done with this. Sorry,’ he slammed. ‘You can trash me, mate, but not on my own show.’
Phil kicked off today’s dose of This Morning by referencing Piers’ strop.
‘Careful what you say today,’ he began. ‘I may get up and storm off.’
‘Don’t you leave me,’ Holly warned.
‘I may get up and go,’ Phil insisted.
‘I’ll be very nice to you today,’ Holly replied, with Phil laughing: ‘What a morning, hey?’
There’s never a dull moment on daytime television…
Piers has since denied mounting speculation that the whole incident on Good Morning Britain was staged, and tweeted: ‘No, it was real.
‘But the debate that followed was very strong, so worth a bit of @GMB family tension.’
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
