Little Mix star Jesy Nelson ‘tops Simon Cowell’s list of possible X Factor judges for 2022’
Simon Cowell is reportedly eyeing former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson for a judging role on the new revamped series of The X Factor.
Things could come full circle for the singer who found fame after winning the competition in 2011 with ex band mates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall.
According to The Sun Simon – who used to have the Salute singers on his record label – is making a list and checking it twice before reaching out to potential new judges for the panel in 2022.
The music mogul is said to be keen to get a success story such as Jesy on the show to guide new hopefuls through the process and find the next big talent.
‘It’s a no brainer for Simon to have someone as successful as Jesy, who the show made, back on the panel,’ a source said.
‘She knows the ups and downs of the music industry inside out, and what it takes to be a successful popstar.
‘Her name has been banded around by Simon and his team as someone who could breathe a bit of new life into the show when it’s back next year.’
Jesy has said she isn’t sure about her plans for the future after she quit the group after nine years. Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade are continuing as a three, and will be embarking on their delayed tour next year.
The star isn’t the only one on Simon’s radar for X Factor, Girls Aloud star Cheryl is also reported to be on the shortlist.
