Scarlett Moffatt back together with boyfriend Scott Dobinson just hours after announcing their split
Scarlett Moffatt has confirmed she is back together with boyfriend Scott Dobinson just hours after announcing their split.
The former Gogglebox star broke the news that she and Scott had broken up after two years of dating on Monday.
She insisted ‘nothing major’ had happened and she was looking forward to the future.
However less than 24 hours later, Scarlett has delivered the even more surprising news that they’ve reconciled.
In her Instagram stories on Monday night, Scarlett shared a photo of her and Scott cosying up on the sofa watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Scarlett, 30, then panned the camera round to herself and said: ‘I think what people should be is kind,’ before filming Scott holding two thumbs up.
‘Do you? People should just be kind,’ Scarlett added as Scott agreed: ‘Definitely.’
The TV star then shared a motivational meme that said: ‘You will never regret being kind.’
Earlier in the day, Scarlett released a statement explaining that she and Scott had decided to break-up.
She wrote in the now deleted post: ‘Unfortunately me and Scott are no longer together. Nothing major has happened, it’s just one of those sad things.
‘I’m going to stay positive for the future and if this lockdown has taught me anything it’s to grab life by the horns as life’s far too short.’
A source has claimed that the pair chose to end their relationship as they had experienced ‘a rough few weeks’, with their breakup reportedly leaving Scarlett ‘heartbroken’.
The insider told The Sun: ‘Scarlett is heartbroken that her relationship with Scott has come to an end. They’ve had a rough few weeks and lately it’s all become too much.
‘Together they have decided to take time apart and Scarlett has told people it is over for good. Scott and Scarlett were very amicable, it’s just a shame.’
The source also added that Scarlett and Scott’s friends were hopeful ‘they [could] work it out’.
Scarlett and Scott, who began dating in 2019, had recently revealed on their BBC Sounds podcast, Scarlett Moffatt Wants To Believe, that they had bought their own home in February and kept fans updated with the renovations on their own property Instagram account.
