David Beckham proved exactly why he is a fan favourite, as he stopped to get his selfie on after delivering a talk to students in Florida.

The former footballer, 45, who has now launched his own club Inter Miami CF across the pond, stopped by to share his expertise with students at the Florida International University.

After taking to the stage, David was seen greeting the crowds of fans who had been in attendance, with many only too keen to grab a chance to cosy up to the star.

Wanting to give his fans just that, David was seen taking snaps as safely as possible during the coronavirus pandemic, as he made sure to keep some distance and kept his mask firmly on.

Hoping to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs, David had attended The David Grutman Experience at the Kovens Conference Center to talk all things business development and brand conceptualisation.

He is close pals with fellow businessman Grutman, who specialises in the hospitality industry and owns his own line of restaurants in Florida.

David kept it casual for his university talk and rocked up in an all-black combo of a T-shirt, jeans and trainers, and seemed to deliver his speech with ease.

His appearance at the university comes after he was seen paying tribute to his wife Victoria Beckham, 46, their daughter Harper, nine, and his mum Sandra, 72, in honour of International Women’s Day.

‘I’ve been so lucky to have such incredible and strong women inspire me throughout my life,’ he told fans alongside a series of pictures of his favourite girls.

‘Today and everyday we celebrate all women around the world… Happy International Women’s day ♥️🌍.’

When he’s not showering the women in his life with affection, David has been busy securing yet more business deals, as it was recently reported he is teaming up with Disney Plus.

The sports star is said to have signed a deal with the streaming service to create a TV series about underprivileged footballers.

‘David was approached by Disney Plus about making the show and he was very taken with the idea because it really reflects his own experiences growing up. Plus he’s still so committed to young talent in the game,’ sources told The Sun.

‘He will be acting as a mentor figure to a group of young people growing up in the inner cities whose lives are being changed by football.’

They added: ‘It was a huge coup for Disney to get David on board. For him it’s about sharing his passion for the game and helping these youngsters out as much as he can.’
