Saffron Barker ignited a hilarious backlash on social media during the first episode of The Celebrity Circle last night after revealing she doesn’t know who Denise Van Outen is.

The YouTuber, who competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, is one of the celebrities on the line-up for the spin-off Channel 4 series in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

During Tuesday night’s launch, Saffron let loose that she’s clueless over ex-Big Breakfast presenter Denise – not to mention Duncan James from Blue.

‘I feel rude because I don’t actually know who Denise or Duncan is, but they probably don’t have a clue who I am either,’ she confessed.

‘Aw, she looks so sweet,’ Saffron cooed, as she looked at a picture of Denise on a pumpkin patch.

‘She’s actually the same age as my mum. I actually don’t know what she does.’

Viewers couldn’t believe their ears at Saffron’s shock admission and rushed to Twitter aghast.

‘SCREAMING at Saffron not knowing who Denise is, I have decided to stan,’ wrote one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘The cheek of Saffron not knowing Denise Van Outen is criminal.’

‘Saffron Barker should be kicked off immediately for not knowing who Denise Van Outen is,’ a third added.

Elsewhere in last night’s launch, the group of celebrities moved into the notorious apartment block for the first time ever.

The group then played a game together, where they had to match quotes to names. After Lady Leshurr failed to identify a quote from Big Narstie, the group became suspicious.

The Celebrity Circle for Stand Up to Cancer continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
