The Masked Singer US floors judges as Kermit The Frog unveiled as Snail
The Masked Singer US unveiled ‘the most famous guest’ last night with Kermit The Frog being revealed as Snail. Yes, you read that right.
Judges Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg and Nicole Scherzinger were left screaming after the little green puppet popped his head out from a hole underneath the costume’s hat.
Shocked by the unmasking, Jenny gasped: ‘I didn’t want to say it, but he sounded like Kermit The Frog.’
‘As they say, it’s not easy being green,’ Kermit said.
‘Sometimes it’s even harder being a snail. I am never going to hear the end of this from Miss Piggy.’
‘It’s really been a pleasure,’ he added, talking about his time on the show. ‘Thanks for having me!’
The puppet’s identity wasn’t correctly guessed by the panel, with Robin thinking it was Seth MacFarlane, Ken suggesting Jay Leno, Jenny reckoning Ted Cruz and Nicole thinking Billy Crystal.
‘After years of being your average everyday talking frog, I thought it would be fun to be someone else,’ Kermit told Variety in a statement.
‘The chance to become a snail—with my own built-in mobile home—was too good to pass up… I didn’t last on the show very long. But I loved every minute of it.’
Kermit has been voiced by Matt Vogel for the last four years, making it likely that he was voicing the puppet in the Snail costume.
Before then, the character was voiced by Steve Whitmire for 26 years and Jim Henson for 35 years.
The Masked Singer airs on Fox in the US.
