Brooklyn Nets have been truly unstoppable this season. Be it their relentless offense on the court or acquisition of players off it, the Nets are on a roll. After making a blockbuster trade by bringing in James Harden, the Nets recently added Pistons’ forward Blake Griffin to the side.

The 6-time All-Star is a much needed addition to the depleted forward line of the Nets. With Griffin alongside the big three, the Nets arguably are one of the most talented teams in the league.

The Nets are clearly in for a run at the championship. And former NBA champion Robert Horry certainly believes that the Nets are under tremendous pressure to win this year’s trophy. The 7-time NBA champion recently explained why it’s a championship or bust year for the Nets.

“With the addition of Blake Griffin, it has to be the Brooklyn Nets because you already had a three-headed monster with KD, Kyrie and Harden. And now you are getting this guy who is an All-Star, dunk champion all these things, there is got to be a lot of pressure on you guys.

“Think about this, KD and James already been to the finals and lost, so that’s more pressure on them than it is on Kyrie because Kyrie’s won the championship. Blake hasn’t even been in the running to be in a conference final”

He added, “There’s a lot of pressure on the on the Brooklyn Nets to get to the finals and win it not just get there because getting there doesn’t mean anything they have to win it with that crew.”

Can the Brooklyn Nets win their first NBA championship this season?

The Nets have one of the most stacked teams this season. With a big three of James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, the Nets have three scoring machines and great playmakers as well.

Especially the way Harden has adapted to the new Nets’ system, it’s simply mind-blowing. Having dominated the scoring in Rockets, ‘the Beard‘ has become the facilitator of the ball for the Nets and is leading the league in assists since he joined the team.

They also have great shooters like Bruce Brown and Joe Harris who are absolutely balling this season. With the big three on the floor, players like Harris and Brown are getting free shots.

Griffin is another playmaker in the Nets who can facilitate the offense. With so many offensive weapons, the Nets are one of the most difficult teams to contain. The Nets are even adding to their stacked roster.

Given the moves they have made so far, it won’t be a surprise if they add a quality player to the defensive end of the floor. The Nets are just getting started, and it won’t be a surprise to see them coming out on top in the East.
