Roger Federer Announces Sad News For Fans After ATP Qatar Open Loss

Roger Federer

Swiss Maestro Roger Federer recently made his comeback on the ATP Tour. After undergoing 2 knee surgeries, Roger finally played again at the 2021 Qatar Open in his first appearance this year.

In his first match, Federer faced a tough challenge in Dan Evans. It was an exhausting battle and that played a major role in his loss against Nikoloz Basilashvili. Again, the Swiss Maestro was forced to play a tiring match and that has caused him to make an unfortunate announcement.

“It’s been great to back on the ATP Tour, loved every minute playing in Doha once again. A big thank you to the best and loyal team that helped me get here. I’ve decided it’s best to go back to training and as a result, I’ve decided to withdraw from Dubai next week,” he said.

When Will Roger Federer Play Again?

It is unfortunate to hear that Roger Federer isn’t playing in Dubai next week. This withdrawal raises a major question – when will we see the Swiss Maestro play again? Unfortunately, there is no clear answer.

At the moment, the Swiss Maestro has announced that he won’t play in Dubai and in Miami at the end of this month. This means that Roger won’t be playing any events until the clay-court season.

Fans will be looking forward to Federer playing on the red clay as he hasn’t competed on it too much over the last few years. He has often skipped it to prepare for the grass-court season but hopefully, he won’t choose to do it this year.
