IMACT Wrestling star Jazz has revealed her twin 12-year-old daughters have started training to follow in their parents’ footsteps.

The 48-year-old superstar – who is married to fellow ex-WWE grappler Rodney Mack – started wrestling school the Dogg Pound with her husband and current NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa, and the two girls have started their journey to becoming ‘second generation’ talent.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Jazz said: ‘I have 12 year old girls, twins, and they’re training now! I wasn’t too happy about it at first, but they’ve been around it since they were six weeks old.

‘In fact, I wrestled three months pregnant because I didn’t even know it – so I guess you could say they’ve been around wrestling all their life, right?’

Jazz – who is teaming with Jordynne Grace at Sacrifice tonight against the Knockouts Tag Team Champions Fire ‘N Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz) – admitted it would have been difficult to try and dissuade her kids from stepping into the family business.

‘That’s what Rodney told me. He’s like, “you can’t be a hypocrite! How you gonna tell them they can’t wrestle and they see you doing it?” I’ve accepted,’ she smiled.

‘Now, my husband and I, we’re their trainers along with Thunder Rosa. So, we’re trying to make them become second generation – I told them, they’ve got big shoes to fill now! [laughs]’

And the influential wrestler agreed that she needs to be mindful of letting her girls ‘make their own mistakes’, as scary a prospect as that might be.

‘It’s part of life! I can only guide them and leave them, but once they’re out on their own they can only make their own mistakes and they’ve gotta learn from ’em,’ she added.

‘I look at it as being a part of life. Am I gonna when them to go out and make these mistakes and go through trials and tribulations? No – because they’re my babies.

‘But I’ve gotta allow it to happen. But I will most definitely will be here for any questions, any advice they want for me.’

For now, the girls are getting to watch their mother do what she does best, as she tears it up on IMPACT just months after announcing her plans for retirement – and her fellow ECW alumni Tommy Dreamer is to thank for the revival.

‘Dreamer saw it on a podcast or heard about it, and he reached out to me. Of course, I’ve been knowing Dreamer for over 20 years because I started out with him in ECW,’ she pointed out.

‘So, he’s always been a huge part of my wrestling career so when he reached out, I couldn’t tell him know. I almost tried! [laugh] I just wasn’t sure!

‘I hadn’t wrestled in three or four years, so I really wasn’t sure if it was something I wanted to do again. He gave me a couple of days to think about it, and again, I couldn’t tell him no.’

And despite her wrestling school and longevity in the business, Jazz has still been inspired by the current crop of Knockouts just as much as they have been motivated by having her around.

She added: ‘I’m intrigued just from standing around those young ladies. I’ve been knowing the majority of them since they first broke in the business, so me sitting back and watching them grow – I feel like a mother hen! [laughs]

‘It’s like watching your little sister or your kids grow up and watching them do what they love, and they’re so passionate. It’s a great atmosphere. I love the locker room – I love everything about it.’

While retirement is still in the back of Jazz’s mind, she’s also reinvigorated by working in the business at a time when women in wrestling are spotlighted like never before.

”It makes you never wanna quit the business, and it makes you never want to retire! Right now, the platform is given to the women to go out and perform,’ she reflected.

‘I’m really focusing on the retirement tour but I’m also trying to see just what happens. I got a lot of things going on – I have the school, I’m working with another promotion where I’m over the women’s division.

‘I’m the Gail Kim in another promotion, and then when I show up at IMPACT I’m a tag team. I’ve got a lot going on right now. Right now, my focus is to try to stay healthy! That’s my main goal right now, just to keep my sanity and stay healthy.’
