Piers Morgan has been spending some quality time with his family in the days following his exit from Good Morning Britain, enjoying a stroll with two of his children.

The presenter, who quit the ITV show this week, looked exhausted as he wandered along with his son Spencer, 27, and daughter Elise, nine.

Ditching the suit and tie for a much more casual lockdown look, the 55-year-old donned tracksuit bottoms and an unbuttoned polo shirt, with a coat over the top.

The trio laughed as they chatted away, with Elise keeping warm with a hot drink.

Piers shares Elise with his wife Celia Walden, who he married in 2010, and has three sons from his previous marriage to Marion Shalloe – Spencer, Stanley, 23, and Albert, 20.

The presenter and journalist quit Good Morning Britain this week after receiving 41,000 Ofcom complaints over his comments about Meghan Markle.

Later clarifying his comments on mental health, Piers said: ‘Mental illness and suicide, these are clearly very serious things and should be taken extremely seriously and if somebody is feeling that way they should get the treatment and help that they need every time and if they belong to an institution like the Royal family and they go and seek that help, they should absolutely be given it.

‘It’s not for me to question whether she felt suicidal, I wasn’t in her mind and that’s for her to say.

‘My real concern was a disbelief frankly and I’m prepared to be proven wrong on this and if I’m wrong, it is a scandal, that she went to a senior member of the Royal household, told them she was suicidal and was told she could not have any help because it would be a bad look for the family.

‘If that was true, A: If they’re still there they should be fired; B: the Royal family has serious questions to be answered about how they handled it.’

While some have celebrated Piers’ exit from the show, Spencer is among those to have supported him.

Sharing a photo of them together, he simply wrote: ‘Team Piers. Always, forever.’

He also revealed that the presenter has received support from the general public, explaining on Twitter: ‘Wow. Just went on one of them lame covid walks with @piersmorgan – the level of public support on the street was actually mind blowing. The social media bubble is fake. Team Piers is real. And it’s huge.’

Brushing off the criticism, he added: ‘Admittedly one dumbass woke Karen did walk past and say “you revolting people’” as two couples were praising him haha.’
