Dancing On Ice star Colin Jackson finished in third place during Sunday night’s final of the show.

The former sprinter took to the ice to perform two routines for the judging panel, but narrowly missed out on his chance to perform the famous Bolero, after being voted out by the public.

Colin, who was partnered with Klabera Komin, bagged two perfect scores of 40 with the routines he performed, but it wasn’t enough to keep him in the competition.

Speaking on his exit, Colin told viewers watching: ‘[I’ve had] great remarks from the judges, which I always felt i tried to aplly to the next stage of training, it’s been a phenomenal time.’

He added that he’s made a ‘wonderful friend’ in Klabera and was praised by the judges for the progress he has made on the show.

The sports star had battled it out against Coronation Street star Faye Brookes and radio presenter Sonny Jay.

Colin won perfect scores of 40 for both his routine to Hot, Hot, Hot and his movie-week routine inspired by Whitney Houston movie The Bodyguard.

The final also saw the stars of this year’s series return to the studio, after the show was plagued by injuries from the get-go.

Denise Van Outen had dislocated her shoulder in training ahead of her Dancing On Ice debut, while Jason Donovan was forced to pull out due to back problems.

Both shared updates with viewers from the studio, with Jason revealing his back is feeling ‘better’ and Denise sharing that she has six weeks left of physio together.

Myleene Klass was the first celebrity to leave the competition, but was forced to give the final group dance a miss after tearing her meniscus during her time on the show.

‘During the process I tore a meniscus, which basically means my cartilage is damaged, so you broke my knee,’ Myleene joked, adding: ‘I’m safely rink side tonight.’

Former stars including Jason, Rufus Hound, Billie Faiers, Matt Richardson and Rebekah Vardy were all seen making a comeback to the ice.

Dancing On Ice is available to watch via catchup on the ITV hub.
