Harvey Price is calling for people to sign his mum Katie’s new Track A Troll petition which will help identify those sending negative abuse online.

Following her campaign to introduce Harvey’s Law – an initiative that will enforce a crackdown on social media trolling and make it a criminal offence – Katie is now hoping to make identification a requirement for social media apps and websites.

By enforcing such online platforms to require ID, users can then be identified and held accountable for sending abusive and hateful messages.

In a new video, Katie enlisted the help of her teenage son Harvey, 18, who is often targeted online by trolls, as the pair urged her followers to sign her new petition in order for necessary changes to be made.

Asked what people do to him online, Harvey says on camera: ‘People are horrible to me.’

He was seen giving a thumbs up to his mum’s new petition, with Katie heard saying: ‘What will mummy do if she finds them [the trolls]? If they’re horrible to Harvey, what will mummy do?’

Harvey replied: ‘Tell you off,’ and said people instead should ‘be safe and happy’ as he thanked fans for signing Katie’s petition.

Speaking about her Track A Troll campaign in a recent TV interview, Katie pointed out the devastating impact online trolls can have on a person’s mental health.

Wanting to tackle the issue, she revealed on Steph’s Packed Lunch: ‘I’ve started a new petition and it’s called Track A Troll – any online sites or apps, because the future is online, you have to have ID or if you’re under 18 for your parent or guardian to sign you in.’

‘There should be some kind of law where you can be ID’d basically.’

Sharing her own experience, she added: ‘For every post I put up, there’s a small group of people who like to cause trouble… when people ask me about trolls and how I cope with it and deal with things – to be honest, I’ve been trolled so many times myself and I’m used to it.’

Like Katie, however, Harvey is often targeted online and faces hate on a regular basis.

Mum-of-five Katie has previously said that Harvey isn’t aware of the abuse directed at him, but it ‘breaks her heart’ not being able to protect him from the hate in the first place.

She said: ‘As a mother, it’s so hard to know I can’t protect and shield my children and it breaks my heart what I have to read and go through with my children, especially Harvey because he just gets abuse.’

Katie is also mum to son Junior, 15, and daughter Princess, 13, who she shares with ex-husband Peter Andre, and son Jett, seven, and daughter Bunny, six, from her previous marriage to Kieran Hayler.
