Disney Plus is the House of Mouse’s streaming platform, released in March 2020.

It instantly became a dominant force in home entertainment, hosting all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films and spin-offs, like the hugely popular WandaVision, as well as Star Wars content and all the Disney classics.

Star on Disney Plus was added in February 2021, bringing even more legacy TV shows, US shows and movies to enjoy.

But, unlike some rivals including Netflix, Disney Plus also has some content kept behind a paywall. What is Disney Plus Premier Access and what extra content can you get through it?

What is Disney Plus Premier Access?

Users pay a flat fee to access most Disney Plus content – since February 23, a subscription will set you back £7.99 per month (or £79.90 per year).

Almost all of the library is free, but some brand-new blockbuster titles are separate from your subscription and require Disney Plus Premier Access.

How much does Disney Plus Premier Access cost?

Premier Access requires a payment of £19.99 per movie.

Premier Access movies do eventually become a part of the Disney Plus library, included with your subscription cost.

The live action remake of Mulan was added as Premier Access purchase on September 4, 2020 but became available to all on December 4, 2020.

Raya and the Last Dragon was added as a Premier Access title on March 5 and is expected to be made available to all on June 4.
