Every day is a learning day with Michelle Obama – with two new furry friends teaching her the magic of mushrooms in her new kids Netflix series.
The former First Lady stars as a supermarket manager in Waffles and Mochi – the story of two puppet pals from the Land of Frozen Food who want to become world class chefs.
In a first look clip exclusive to Metro.co.uk, Waffles and Mochi are all too eager to show off their magnificent mushroom collection to Michelle – who they dub Mrs O – after their latest trip around the world in their flying shopping cart.
Showing off all the weird looking mushrooms, Waffles reveals he found out something special, and tells Mrs O: ‘We really learned that just because something is different, doesn’t mean you won’t like it.’
While she looks impressed at her friends’ collection, Busy – her worker bee right hand man – doesn’t look so impressed.
You can’t win them all!
In an exclusive interview with Waffles himself – the cuddly part Yeti (yes, really) – Metro.co.uk learned all about what it was like working with their beloved Mrs O.
He told us: ‘She’s lovely. She’s just got a heart of gold. She gave us a shot when we were like “can we get a job here?” and she was like “Sure.”
‘It really speaks to her character. She’s a cool lady.
‘We got to meet all the people in the supermarket and they became our family. Family can mean a lot of things.’
The 10-episode series has been launched as part of the Obamas’ megabucks deal with the streaming service, and is aimed to educate kids from a young age to eat more healthily.
Each episode sees Michelle bring in famous friends – like Rashida Jones, Jack Black and Stranger Things’ Gaten Mattarazzo – to learn about a new fresh ingredient and the things that make them special.
Waffles and Mochi launches March 17 on Netflix.
