UFC’s Colby Covington says he ‘wants blood on his hands’ after Donald Trump was ‘cheated out of presidential election’

UFC star Colby Covington has revealed he ‘wants blood on his hands’ after Donald Trump was ‘cheated’ out of retaining his presidency.

The American MMA star, 33, lashed out at the ‘rigged’ election in a long rant explaining why he didn’t take up a fight with Leon Edwards at the last moment.

UFC chief Dana White had asked Covington to face the British star at UFC Fight Night – which took place in Las Vegas over the weekend – before the American rejected his advances.

Edwards instead fought Belal Muhammad, with the fight ending as a no-contest after the American had his eye gouged, leaving him needing stitches.

During his rant on Submission Radio, Covington revealed ‘my right-wing conservative people want blood right now’ in response to Joe Biden’s victory over Trump.

Speaking about his phonecall with White after rejecting the Edwards fight, Covington said: “He didn’t like it, guys.

“He just, he pretty much went, ‘OK,’ and he just hung up and that was the end of the call. He didn’t like what I had to say.”

Covington went on to say he is looking out for himself and his own interests, adding: “I’m in the Colby Covington incorporated business now. I’m not in the business to do charity.

“I’ve earned what I’ve earned. Look at my record, guys. I’ve beaten former champions, I’ve beaten hall-of-famers.

“The list and resume of all the all-time greats that I’ve beat [goes on].

“I’m in the biggest fights, the pay-per-view fights, selling, big draw for the company.

“You guys know who does the ratings for the show. We’re pulling better numbers than the ESPN show and they have millions of subscribers.

“I deserve what I deserve and I deserve what I earn.”

Bizarrely, Covington went off on a tangent – lashing out at the US presidential election, won by Biden.

Covington continued: “I’m a hard-working, blue-collar American that just wants what he deserves.

“I’m gonna put it all on the line, I’m gonna give you a great fight. Every time I fight, you know what you’re gonna get.

“You know you’re gonna get high octane, high energy – an American that wants blood.

“I know a lot of my right-wing conservative people want blood right now.

“We were cheated out of the election. It was an unfair election with Donald Trump.

“They cheated, they rigged the system… so we want blood on our hands.

“So I know a lot of Republicans and right-wing people that want blood. I want to give it to them.

“I hope the UFC can give it to them too. Give the people what they, UFC.”

Covington concluded by saying he wants a huge fight with Jorge Masvidal.

He said: “Put Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington in a title fight or in a grudge fight with Jorge Masvidal because you don’t need a title fight for that.

“It’s a pay-per-view fight. Let’s get it done, let’s go. Stop wasting time.”
