Beyonce and Jay Z kiss and get drunk in love as they celebrate historic Grammys 2021 wins
Beyonce and Jay Z are notoriously private but they showed rare displays of affection after their historic wins at the Grammy Awards last weekend.
The married couple were in jovial spirits after the awards show and were pictured celebrated backstage in their trailer.
In one photo shared on her Instagram, Beyonce is seen planting a kiss on Jay Z’s cheek as he smiles at the camera making for a rare moment of PDA.
Another photo shows the couple posing in between two trailers with Beyonce showing off her second outfit of the night – a silver gown with matching turban and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. She had earlier worn a black leather minidress for the official ceremony.
It was a momentous night for Beyonce, 39, who took home four Grammys on Sunday becoming the most-awarded female singer in the Recording Academy’s history with 28 awards.
Among the accolades were best R&B performance for Black Parade and best music video for Brown Skin Girl.
Despite keeping a relatively low profile throughout the night, Jay Z also enjoyed success after winning two Grammys this year.
The 51-year-old rapper is listed as a songwriter on Beyonce’s Black Parade and Megan Thee Stallion’s Savage remix, both of which won awards bringing his total Grammys to 23. He’s still the most-awarded rapper in Grammys history.
During her acceptance speech, Beyonce thanked her hubby and also gave a sweet shout-out to their children; Blue Ivy, nine, and three-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.
She began: ‘Thank you guys so much. Oh my god. I am so honoured. I am so excited. Thank you guys.
‘As an artist, I believe it’s my job and all of our jobs to reflect the times. It has been such a difficult time so I wanted to uplift, encourage, and celebrate all of the beautiful Black queens and kings that continue to inspire me and inspire the whole world.’
The Formation hitmaker continued: ‘This is so overwhelming. I’ve been working for my whole life, since nine years old, and I can’t believe this happened. This is such a magical night. Thank you so much. I know my daughter is watching, two daughters and my son, y’all are all watching.
‘Congratulations Blue. She won a Grammy tonight. I’m so proud of you, and I’m so honoured to be your mommy, all of your mummys [sic]. Y’all are my babies and I’m so proud of y’all.’
Turning to Jay Z, she said: ‘I love you so much, my rock.’
Because she’s Beyonce and breaking records is her thing, she’s also the most-nominated female artist with a staggering 79 nods throughout her career so far.
