Celebrity Bake Off: James McAvoy can’t resist mocking Paul Hollywood in epic impersonation
Actor James McAvoy couldn’t resist a cheeky little dig at Paul Hollywood while on the Celebrity Great British Bake Off.
The Split actor – who had to learn 22 different accents and personalities for that film alone – was put to the test by Matt Lucas to add another to his arsenal.
While making a meringue tart as part of the signature challenge, host Matt cornered the 41-year-old Scottish star to get him to do a Paul impersonation.
Initially seeming bashful, James then said: ‘I can’t really do a Paul, but what I have noticed, is it’s very important when doing Paul…’
He then shoved both his hands in his jeans’ pockets and bent his elbows, creating the perfectly matched Paul Hollywood Power Stance.
James then cheekily added: ‘What is inside his pockets that he’s scared of disturbing…?’
Singer Anne-Marie, who was also competing in the tent, cracked up laughing at overhearing James’s comments, with Paul completely out of earshot to hear what was being said about him.
Anne-Marie and James are up against Dame Kelly Holmes and David Baddiel in this week’s challenge, all in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.
Starting with a decorative tart signature, the group are then tested with a savoury technical and an animal cake showstopper.
Last week, Alexandra Burke took the winners’ apron after beating Daisy Ridley, Rob Beckett and Tom Allen.
All efforts are made to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
The Celebrity Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
