Rocker Courtney Love has detailed her recent medical scare which saw her hospitalised amid an anaemia diagnosis which she says nearly killed her.

The Hole singer shared a post on social media over the weekend detailing her health struggle, which came after she received her Covid-19 jab in London.

Alongside a clip of herself, the singer revealed she was in hospital with anaemia last year and added it left her in ‘indescribable pain’ as her weight plummeted.

Anaemia is a condition caused by a lack of red blood cells in the body, leading to reduced oxygen flow to the organs, with symptoms including feeling tired, weakness, shortness of breath, and a poor ability to exercise. It can be temporary or long-term and range from mild to severe.

Sharing with fans she was on the mend, Courtney credited CBD oil with helping ease her ‘debilitating’ pain as she insisted she thought she was ‘broken for sure this time’.

Courtney wrote: ‘People, I’ve been sad, and extremely sick. Debilitated, in indescribable pain and in August at 97 pounds almost died in hospital from anemia (hemoglobin I had none).

‘I was stigmatized for being an addict for 9 months by many ill-equipped drs, backwards drs and quacks. While in debilitating acute pain. (sic).’

Adding she met ‘the most empathic wise pain management dr’, a grafeful Courtney added she’s ‘so good now’ and using CBD oil, ‘which has removed ALMOST ALL the physical symptoms. And all the pain.’

She also thanked actor Woody Harrelson for showing her ‘back in the day’ the uses of hemp, adding ‘you were right’.

The star went on to say she’s still ‘100% sober by the way’, after revealing in February last year she was 18 months sober.

Courtney added: ‘Bear with me as I start to try and have a blast and help others every pain free day!!! I’ve been basically bedridden.

‘I thought I was broken for sure this time. But I’m ok! So I’m just waking and I’m frail.

‘I’ll be strong again soon! Not as always because this is the period to be mellow and not waste energy on anger, etc. Dropping the rock as we say. A new sort of strong with wisdom and more empathy than I had for people with physical illness.

‘Love you.’
