Nicholas Lyndhurst’s wife Lucy has paid an emotional tribute to her late son Archie Lyndhurst on Mother’s Day, following the young actor’s death in September aged 19.

Sharing a sweet snap of CBBC star Archie as a young boy, Lucy thanked her son for making her a mother, adding she misses him ‘every minute of every day’.

She wrote on Sunday: ‘My dearest darling boy. To get through today without you is the hardest thing ever. I miss you every minute of every day.

‘I will never stop loving you. Not ever.

‘Thank you for making me a mummy. It was the best adventure I’ve ever had. You never stopped me from smiling ever.

‘Thank you for all those beautiful happy times. I shall be forever in your debt. You teach me everyday to be a better person.

‘Love you today, tomorrow and always. All my love your devoted Mama. (sic)’

Archie, who is the son of Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas and Lucy, was found dead at home on September 22 last year.

It was later found the star’s death came after ‘a short illness’ and was not treated as suspicious, with West London Coroners revealing that no inquest would take place.

Lucy revealed in January that Archie – who was best known for playing Ollie Coulton on CBBC comedy So Awkward – died from a rare brain condition.

She wrote: ‘Four days before Christmas Nick and I sat in Harley Street with the results of Archie’s second post mortem. A very detailed document, which we had been warned by the coroner would be a harrowing read, and best explained by a medical practitioner.

‘The Dr explained Archie died from natural causes (something we knew already, only gossips, keyboard warriors, trolls and the ignorant thought differently)

‘He died from an Intracerebral Haemorrhage caused by Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma/Leukaemia. This is not Leukaemia as we know it, the word Acute in medical terms means rapid.

‘He assured us that there wasn’t anything anyone could have done as Archie showed no signs of illness.’

Lucy continued: ‘Archie had numerous bleeds on the brain and the Dr went to great lengths to reassure us that he wouldn’t have been in any pain as it happened in his sleep.

‘The results utterly floored us to think something like this could happen. It’s very rare and around only 800 people a year die from it. (sic)’

Archie was laid to rest in November, with his mother telling his fans: ‘The pain of our loss is beyond anything we have ever felt before, and wouldn’t wish upon anyone.

‘Archie was and remains our absolute world. He was the most beautiful extraordinary human being we have ever known. To have him as our son has been nothing but an utter joy and honour.

‘Tonight at 6pm Nick and I shall be with him in a tiny chapel to send him on the first part of his next journey. If you get a moment maybe you’d like to light a candle or take a minute just to remember him.

‘We’ve never known anyone live like Archie. He cherished and absorbed every moment he had. Until we meet again our darling magical boy.

‘We will love you forever and ever and will be forever grateful for choosing us to be your parents. We were beyond lucky. Thank you for every smile, hug, laugh, conversation we loved them all.

‘Your kindness and generosity knew no bounds. You were the best teacher we ever had. We miss you every minute of everyday. As you would say my darling. “In a bizzle”. Love You.’
