Why has NOW TV changed its name and is there anything new on the service?
Streaming platform NOW TV has undergone a bit of a revamp and unveiled a brand new look for users to enjoy.
From The Walking Dead to Your Honor and Sex And The City, the service has a whole host of series available to stream, as well as the latest movie releases including SAS: Red Notice, Witches and The United States vs. Billie Holiday.
It officially launched as NOW TV nine years ago in 2012, but has now dropped the TV part of its name to become just NOW in a snazzy new rebrand.
Why has NOW TV changed its name?
So why has NOW TV changed its name to NOW, you ask? It’s all part of the platform’s new vision to embrace a theme of ‘brilliant simplicity’.
NOW’s managing director revealed: ‘By moving from NOW TV to NOW, we marry our world-class quality with brilliant simplicity. This immediacy creates a true destination and community for those who love and live for the best entertainment.’
It’s shiny new look and colour scheme was rolled out on Tuesday March 16 with a nationwide campaign.
As well as streaming memberships covering entertainment, cinema and sport, NOW also offers broadband plans.
Is there anything new to the service?
It doesn’t look like the rebrand is including anything new – more updating its original platform.
Instead of NOW TV’s ‘passes’ that were on offer, subscribers will now have the option of purchasing either an entertainment, cinema, sport or kids ‘membership’ – its contract-free access to different plans giving viewers the opportunity to tune into their favourite shows, movies and sporting matches and access Sky channels, like Sky Cinema and Sky Sports.
New price promotions are also in place, with a 40% off bundle offering one month of both the entertainment and cinema membership, as well as a boost which allows users to stream content in full HD across three devices.
What shows and movies are available to watch on NOW?
NOW offers users the chance to binge-watch many US series including Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston’s new show Your Honor.
Fan favourites include NCIS, The Walking Dead, Game Of Thrones, Modern Family, Chicago Fire and A Discovery Of Witches.
Framing Britney Spears – the documentary exploring Britney’s conservatorship with her father and the highs and lows of her career is also available to watch.
New movies that have dropped on the streaming service include Amanda Seyfried’s 2020 release You Should Have Left, To Olivia starring Keeley Hawes and Hugh Bonneville, Cut Throat City and Oliver Twist remake Twist starring Rita Ora and Rafferty Law.
