Emily Ratajkowski treats fans to candid snaps from labour and first moments with newborn after giving birth
Emily Ratajkowski is in a bubble of pure baby bliss after welcoming her first child and she’s now sharing intimate moments from her labour with fans.
The model, 29, introduced her new arrival to fans on Instagram just days after giving birth on March 8 and described finally getting to meet her baby as ‘surreal’.
She shares Sylvester Apollo Bear (known also as Sly) with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard and was inundated with congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities, including Bella Hadid and singer Halsey.
As she settles into mum life, Emily has now treated her folllowers to intimate snaps from her birth and the first moments she had with her bubba.
The Gone Girl star shared a collage of photos that were taken in hospital and saw her mid-labour, as well as enjoying those first newborn cuddles.
One smitten mama, Emily captioned her Instagram post: ‘In between pushes/first moments with Sly. Life!’
Emily confirmed she had given birth five days ago, as she introduced her child online with a very cute photo of her breastfeeding back at home.
‘Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side. Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life,’ she penned.
Prior to her little one’s arrival, Emily had kept fans updated with her pregnancy and she revealed in an interview with Vogue that she was planning on raising her baby in a gender-neutral household.
She told the publication: ‘When my husband and I tell friends that I’m pregnant, their first question after “Congratulations” is almost always “Do you know what you want?”
‘We like to respond that we won’t know the gender until our child is 18 and that they’ll let us know then. Everyone laughs at this.’
‘There is a truth to our line, though, one that hints at possibilities that are much more complex than whatever genitalia our child might be born with: the truth that we ultimately have no idea who—rather than what—is growing inside my belly.’
Emily and husband Sebastian have been together for around three years and wed in 2018, after just weeks of dating.
Her surprise wedding drew criticism and led to some writing off their marriage, with Emily later coming for her critics as she told Marie Claire: ‘No one can take women seriously on any choices that they make, especially if they’re unique to them and they don’t play into the way we think women should get married.
‘People came after my marriage, like, “Wow, I give it three weeks,” and I’m like, “What?”‘
