Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle join James McAvoy in Red Nose Day 2021 campaign
Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle have joined a whole host of celebrities to support Comic Relief for Red Nose Day 2021.
Championing the annual charity venture, the pop stars are seen sporting outfits from TK Maxx and Homesense’s collaboration with Pixar and Comic Relief.
Kimberley, 39, wears a ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ apron featuring a print of Monsters Inc’s Sulley and Mike, while 35-year-old Nadine’s apron features a large print of Toy Story’s Jessie.
Joining the singers are James McAvoy and Emma Willis, with the host of The Circle looking every inch the cowgirl in a wild west-inspired hat for her photoshoot.
Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton also lends her star power to the campaign, as have the likes of Lara Stone, Abbey Clancy and Jimmy Carr.
For the very first time, TK Maxx has created an iconic Red Nose Day t-shirt featuring Pixar characters.
The limited edition chari-tee shirts bring iconic characters from the nation’s favourite films including Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc. and The Incredibles into people’s homes.
As part of Comic Relief, Red Nose Day has been running since its launch in 1988 and is a day designated to raising as much money as possible for charity.
Following a difficult year for everyone in 2020, this year, it’s all about raising money through humour.
Comic Relief co-founder, Sir Lenny Henry, said: ‘We all need cheering up, so this year Red Nose Day will be a bit different.
‘Of course, we want to raise as much money as possible for people who really need it in the UK and around the world.
‘But we also want to make you smile and bring you some laughter over the coming weeks.’
The Red Nose Day programme will begin at 7pm on BBC1 on Friday, March 19.
Alesha Dixon, David Tennant, Davina McCall, Paddy McGuinness and Sir Lenny Henry will share presenting duties.
David Tennant and Michael Sheen will team up for another instalment of their hit comedy series Staged, while Dawn French is set to return as the Vicar of Dibley in a Comic Relief special.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Dame Judi Dench, Karim Zeroual, Joe Lycett, Mo Gilligan, Roman Kemp and Shappi Khorsandi are also expected to make appearances on the show.
The T-shirt, apron and homeware collection, featuring Pixar characters, are available online at tkmaxx.com to raise money for Comic Relief.
