Henry Cejudo Mocks Israel Adesanya’s ‘Dare to Be Great’ Comments- Calls Them Sick

Henry Cejudo

Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo teased a potential return to the UFC. ‘The Messenger’ was one of the few simultaneous two-division champions in the history of the promotion. ‘Triple-C’ retired after successfully defending his belt against the consensus greatest bantamweight of all time, Dominick Cruz, at UFC 249.

Cejudo. despite being retired, keeps a close eye on how things unfold in the UFC. And he wasn’t impressed with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s recent ‘dare to be great’ comments in his post-fight interview after his loss to Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259.

In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, Cejudo said, “I’m just a competitor man, like I go out and I- I try to push my mind-body my spirit into, into the unknown territory I don’t dare to be great as, as a lot of people say I am freaking great. I go out and actually conquer it. I’m not daring myself, I am great.

And the difference between being daring to be great being great are two different things. You can dare all you want but then though, but then you have the greats you have the greats that go in there and they get they get the damn job done. So that dare to be great freakin comment makes me absolutely sick,” he added.

It would be great for the UFC and the fans to have the former Olympic gold medalist back in action. He is a great fighter and a great entertainer. Undoubtedly, his presence will bring more thrill to the UFC.

Is Henry Cejudo one of the greatest of all time?

Cejudo’s achievements in the UFC and in his combat career are unmatched. He is an exceptional athlete and has beaten some of the best fighters of all time over the course of his time within the octagon. It’s hard to argue his status as one of the greatest fighters of all time.

It’s understandable why he retired after having a career full of accolades. However, despite that, he doesn’t have too much mileage on him as a fighter. So, he can still compete at the highest level for a long time. Thus, a return of ‘The Messenger‘ is not off the cards, especially when one considers these factors.

What did you make of Henry Cejudo’s recent comments about daring to be great? Is he hyping up a return? Let us know.
