Katie Price is nothing, if not, determined as she’s vowed to run the marathon for a third time, despite breaking her feet in a freak accident.

Last year, the former glamour model, 42, was left in agony as she suffered the life-changing injury in a 20ft fall while visiting a theme park on holiday in Turkey.

Katie was forced to endure a six-hour surgery and was warned by doctors that it could take up to two years for her to recover.

Determined to beat her injuries, however, Katie has already made progress and has begun walking again in just eight months, when doctors told her it could take up to 18-months for her to walk again.

Setting her sights on an even bigger goal, Katie revealed on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Wednesday that she wants to run the London marathon next year.

She said: ‘Mentally, when you’re told you’ve got a life-changing injury – I’m told I can’t run again – I am going to be determined.

‘The fact that they said that, I want to run the marathon next April. I’d have to do a fast walk or something, [but] I don’t want that to be taken away and I’ll do everything I can to do it.’

Katie shared just how much pain she is still in from her injuries, but insisted: ‘You’ve got to get up and try and make the effort.’

She continued: ‘I’ve proved I’m determined. To be told I’m in a wheelchair and told I can’t walk for 18-months – I’m already walking… because I’m determined. I don’t want to sit there.’

It wouldn’t be the first time Katie has taken on the marathon, as she has previously attempted the 26-mile long race on two occasions.

The first time was in 2009 with ex-husband Peter Andre. Katie injured her knee during the race and had to be helped over the finish line by the Mysterious Girl singer.

Katie was then forced to pull out of the marathon in 2010 and 2011 due to her knee injury.

Almost a decade later, she revealed that she had actually miscarried prior to running the marathon for the first time.

In an interview with new! magazine in 2018, Katie revealed: ‘I ran the London marathon last time having a miscarriage. I was bleeding the whole way through.’

The revelation came as she took on the marathon for a second time – running for her mum Amy after she was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition and the British Lung Foundation.

Katie was dressed in a lungs costume, but with her old knee injury niggling at her, she was unable to hit her desired training goal and on the day, was forced to pull out of the marathon after nine miles.

The mum-of-five said at the time: ‘I did train for the run, tried my best in a heavy outfit and if my mummy is proud that’s what matters to me.’
