Selling Sunset’s Mary Fitzgerald reveals she did congratulate Christine Quinn on pregnancy as co-star calls her out on TikTok
Selling Sunset star Mary Fitzgerald has revealed she did congratulate her on/off BFF Christine Quinn on her pregnancy – despite being called out for ignoring her announcement.
Christine is expecting her first child with husband Christian Richard and had announced her baby joy in a pregnancy shoot with People which she shared on Instagram.
Naturally, she was sent a slew of congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities like Khloe Kardashian, but Christine later called out her Selling Sunset co-stars for ignoring her post.
In a video she shared to TikTok, Christine is seen searching through the likes her baby announcement received and savagely called out Mary, Heather Rae Young and Chrishelle Stause for not liking her post.
However, Mary has now set the record straight and insists she did congratulate Christine on her pregnancy, but chose to do so in person.
Instead of double-tapping on Instagram, she sent Christine a voice note, telling her she is ‘so happy for her’ and asking if there’s anything she can do.
Mary revealed: ‘I did reach out to her. I sent her a voice memo… saying how happy I am for her for her pregnancy.’
She explained that she saw Christine’s baby news in the media, adding to heatworld: ‘I said I’m so happy for her. Congratulations, let me know if there was anything I could do for her and she just said thank you.’
Brushing off rumours of a fallout, Mary insisted that she is ‘personally OK’ with Christine and shared that she thinks motherhood will ‘ground’ her pal.
She added: ‘I think she will handle [being a mum] well. Hopefully it will ground her and I think it will make her – like it does most people – a better person, where you focus on another being.’
Heather had also commented on Christine’s pregnancy news and claimed she thinks motherhood will make her co-star ‘softer’.
She explained that she had reached out to Christine following her big news for a friendly catch-up and told Us Weekly: ‘I’m thinking motherhood will soften her a little bit.’
Christine, however, wasn’t so keen on Heather’s choice of words and later revealed on This Morning: ‘That’s one of those comments that really hurt my feelings. I was really shocked to hear that.
‘You know, it is what it is and I hate when people shelter themselves behind the press, you know. Say those things to my face – but they never will. So I was just really hurt and shocked and surprised.’
She added: ‘I mean motherhood is just such a special thing. So for me, it was hurtful to read that more than anything.’
Selling Sunset follows the Oppenheim Group’s real estate brokerage firm and all the drama that comes with its real estate brokers, as they try and sell some of the most expensive and luxurious homes in LA.
The series has been a huge hit on Netflix, with Selling Sunset recently being confirmed for two more seasons, as well as an all Black, all female spin-off.
