Alan Carr left Amanda Holden shocked by revealing he was ‘outed as gay to his mother by a ouija board’ during a spooky reading.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race UK judge joined the Britain’s Got Talent star for the latest episode of DNA Journey, and ahead of the first discovery told his pal he was worried about the results.

Speaking about his coming out story, Alan revealed his mother Christine had a calling from ‘the other side’ letting her know about his sexuality.

‘Me and my mum used to do the ouija board – don’t do that,’ he told her. ‘I got outed by a ouija board.

‘I was doing it with my mum, I wasn’t out yet – as if I was ever in – and she got a message from my dad’s friends called Sinbad, he said H-O-M-O-S-E, homosexual.’

‘I went “Bye!”’ and mocked pushing away the board. ‘I’m not being outed by a ghost!’

He then later added that he thought his mum was ‘pushing the glass’ as a wind up.

‘Maybe it was her way of trying to get you to talk about it,’ Amanda reasoned.

‘That is quite a unique way of getting your son to come out,’ Alan shot back. ‘Satan.’

Alan and Amanda took a deep dive into their family history in the latest ITV special, during which it was also revealed that one of Alan’s ancestors was a celebrated war hero before he died in a World War II air raid.

Zachariah Coles served as a naval officer in World War I, before serving as an engineer in the Red Cross ambulance boats in Mesopotamia – now known as Iraq.

He was awarded honours and the Red Cross Medal for his service, before he started working as a pub landlord on his return home.

Unfortunately, during World War II, he and several others were killed when a bomb went off outside his workplace.

DNA Journey continues Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
