Ant and Dec wreak havoc as they gatecrash Cat Deeley’s promo shoot for book release on Saturday Night Takeaway

When it comes to Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway no celebrity is safe – not even the presenting duo’s long-time pal Cat Deeley.

Ant and Dec have known Cat for years, with the trio arguably being the face of kids’ TV in the 90s on SM:TV Live, so it’s no surprise that they thought she’d be an easy target to play the ultimate prank.

In a teaser look at Saturday Night Takeaway’s episode this week, Ant and Dec wreak havoc at a promo shoot for Cat’s latest children’s book The Joy In You, which was released in September.

As she geared up for her book launch, Cat was seen stopping by a photoshoot that saw her posing in front of a giant background of the book’s cover.

Little did she know that Ant and Dec had a few tricks (and nasty surprises) up their sleeves to make said shoot one Cat wouldn’t forget in a hurry.

Carving secret holes into the faces of a mum koala and her baby on the cover, Ant and Dec decided to gatecrash Cat’s promo pictures and turn the cover into a giant face-in-the-hole board and she had absolutely no idea.

As she worked the camera with her back to the cover, Ant and Dec were seen posing up a storm behind her, which was no doubt a nice little surprise for Cat when she saw the photos back.

Making sure the day didn’t run smooth, ITV teases that Ant and Dec made sure as many hiccups as possible were made, but fans will have to tune in to see Cat’s reaction.

Saturday’s episode will also include an SM:TV Live Chums reunion with Ant and Dec and Cat, with sources telling The Sun: ‘This is the reunion SM:TV fans have been calling for. It’s going to be epic.’

It comes after an SM:TV Live special aired on Boxing Day last year. The retrospective episode saw Ant and Dec reunite with Cat as they reminisced about their time together on Saturday morning TV.

The show aired at 9.25 – the same time SM:TV Live aired back in the day.

During the episode Ant and Dec revealed that they’d actually turned down the presenting gig twice because they initially didn’t want to do kids TV – a move Dec said was fuelled by ‘stupidity’.

Luckily for us, they eventually did sign on and SM:TV Live ran for five years between 1998 and 2003, with Ant and Dec and Cat hosting the programme from its premiere until 2001.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway continues on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
