Edouard Mendy’s season comes full circle as he boasts best form of all his rivals
Edouard Mendy’s (£3.4m) season has come full circle.
The Senegalese keeper burst onto the scene after signing for Chelsea with a string of clean sheets before tailing away as results dipped under Frank Lampard.
But as we round the bend and approach the final stretch of the campaign, Chelsea are absolutely tanking towards the finishing line.

The Blues have been highly impressive in defence since Thomas Tuchel was appointed in January.
They have climbed into the top four and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in seven years after a professional display against Atletico Madrid.
And much of that success is due to the keeper and the club’s new-found defensive solidity.
Chelsea have kept an astonishing 11 clean sheets in their last 13 matches in all competitions, conceding just twice with Southampton’s Takumi Minamino (£2.0m) the only opposition player to get on the scoresheet.
Naturally, they boast the best defensive record in the Premier League over the last six Game Weeks.

They’ve conceded just 18 efforts on target in seven top-flight matches and have HALF the expected goals against (xGA) of any side in the league.
Unsurprisingly, Mendy is now the second-highest points scoring keeper in the game.
The 28-year-old has 38 points in his last six outings and that’s taken his season tally to 121 – just six behind Ederson (£4.0m).
But Mendy is 0.6m cheaper than his Man City counterpart, has a much lower ownership at 13.5%, and kinder fixtures.
Chelsea’s next six games include Sheffield United, West Brom, Crystal Palace, Brighton, West Ham and Fulham – with four of those at Stamford Bridge.
