RuPaul’s Drag Race season 2’s finale was all kinds of emotional with the return of queens – including Veronica Green.

Veronica was forced to withdraw from the competition mid-season after testing positive for coronavirus.

Filming the show was halted for seven months due to coronavirus lockdown, and she was days away from return when she found out.

As a result, fans were devastated, especially after she had made such a mark on the competition – winning one of the four challenges handed to them.

She has been given an invitation to return to the Race in season three.

But joining the rest of the queens for one last reunion – including Ginny Lemon who walked off the show – Veronica looked ready and raring to go.

Finalist Lawrence was first to welcome her back, making a joke about her winning song in Cats parody Rats, by asking if she had caught ‘rat bite fever’.

‘I really thought you were going to be in the top with us, so God help those queens in season three but you’re so amazing, so I’m just so glad you’re well,’ Lawrence told her.

‘Thank you. If there is one thing I would say now that I’m back is wear a mask, stay safe, stop the spread and save lives,’ Ginny quipped back, dressed like a superhero.

In emotional season finale scenes, every eliminated queen returned to support the final four, making a surprise appearance in the final moments of their choreographed routine to A Little Bit Of Love.

Viewers were delighted to see the gang all back together to see who would be crowned – Bimini Bon Boulash, Tayce, Ellie Diamond or Lawrence Chaney.

After a final run, Scottish queen Lawrence was crowned the victor, after winning three challenges in the show’s run.

‘I’ve said a lot of things this season – so I’m going to keep it short and swift… who’s ready for the purple reign?’ she said on stage.

Ellie Diamond, 21, came in fourth place, with Tayce and Bimini declared runners up after a final lip sync to Elton John’s I’m Still Standing.

The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race wins and crown and sceptre and an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to work on their own series.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is available on BBC iPlayer (UK) and WOW Presents (Rest of World).
