Wendy Williams suffered a nightmare on-air disaster when her chair broke as she kicked off yesterday’s show.
Just days after she appeared to sneeze and fart during her programme, the 56-year-old presenter fell victim to another live blunder, with her crew rushing out onto the stage to fix the problem.
Wendy was sat in her seat and began to introduce the Hot Topics segment when she shouted: ‘What! Hold on! Why are you all screaming at me? They’re screaming at me. What is going on?’
‘The chair broke’, someone called out, prompting Wendy to stand up.
‘Not my throne!’ she wailed. ‘Live TV, hey!’
Two crew members then walked on stage with another chair for her to use.
‘My chair’s broken? Okay, I’ll take my Prince chair,’ she enthused.
‘Hey, boys model it from the back. Show it from the back. This is my Prince chair.’
After the issue was resolved, Wendy jumped into her new purple seat much to the delight of the audience, who clapped at the chaos.
‘Oh my gosh,’ she said. ‘What a disaster. I love it!… Oh my gosh I love this show.’
Viewers were equally amused by the scenes and rushed to Twitter to comment.
‘I got nervous for a minute,’ wrote one. ‘Glad they caught it.’
‘Dang that fart was powerful,’ joked another.
Iconic.
The Wendy Williams Show airs on Fox in the US.
