Dermot O’Leary got very passionate about a dishwasher debate on This Morning, with the presenter accidentally getting a little bit sweary on the show.

We’ve all been there, Dermot.

The presenter chatted away to co-host Alison Hammond about people going ‘on strike’ from their household chores when their partners haven’t been helping out enough.

A visibly frustrated Dermot revealed that ‘dishwasher politics’ are a big thing in his house, with the star declaring that his wife Dee Koppang’s stacking method isn’t quite up to his standards.

‘I open it sometimes and I’m like, “Have you just thrown that in?!”‘ he said, before admitting to Alison: ‘S**t, I’m gonna get killed for that.’

Oh Dermot.

Naturally, the slip didn’t pass viewers by, with one quipping on Twitter: ‘S**t, I reckon you’re gonna get killed for that Dermot.’

‘Dermot O’leary saying s**t is a cracking way to start the show,’ another added, while one more said: ‘Dermot you potty mouth!’

Dermot and Alison host the show on Fridays, after taking over from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

It seems things are going well for the duo as the programme has reportedly hit its highest ratings in 19 years.

The ITV show, which is presented primarily by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, averaged an impressive 1.4million viewers in the first four weeks of 2021.

According to the Mirror, the programme has experienced a rise in viewership since last year and the episode on February 2 saw the audience peak at 1.9million.

A source said: ‘There is no doubt that under [Holly] and Phillip’s stewardship the show is hitting massive heights. It’s little wonder the pair of them are so in demand.

It comes after Alison Hammon and Dermot O’Leary came out ahead of predecessors Eamonn and Ruth in the ratings battle after taking over in January.

Alison and Dermot’s first show at the beginning of this year saw 1.41million people tune in, which is 200,000 more than watched Eamonn and Ruth’s final episode on December 18.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
