Piers Morgan standing by ITV and confirms more Life Stories despite sensational exit from Good Morning Britain: ‘I’m filming more soon’
Piers Morgan has confirmed he will still be filming more Life Stories for ITV despite quitting Good Morning Britain.
The 55-year-old’s latest episode featuring Coleen Nolan was Piers’ return to ITV after he sensationally left GMB, refusing to apologise for dismissing Meghan Markle’s mental health battle as a ‘lie’.
The final straw came after an on-air spat with co-host Alex Beresford, prompting the presenter to storm off set.
Viewers have been divided by the departure, to say the least, with ratings continuing to slide in his absence.
However, fans of the former GMB host will still be able to catch him on the same channel as his Life Stories has been comissioned for further episodes, due to start filming soon.
When one of his Life Stories viewers wrote on Twitter: ‘Great show. Don’t leave #LifeStories Piers!’ he quickly assured the fan: ‘Thanks Andrew – don’t worry, I’m filming some more soon.’
On Wednesday, Piers stressed: ‘Reports of my ITV demise have been greatly exaggerated…. I’m back already.’
Despite a record number of complaints to Ofcom – 57,000 so far – Piers has only doubled down on his accusations that the Duchess of Sussex lied about having suicidal thoughts and subsequently been widely condemned by mental health charities.
‘Only 57,000? I’ve had more people than that come up & congratulate me in the street for what I said. The vast majority of Britons are right behind me,’ he tweeted after breaking the TV watchdog’s record.
Regardless, he’s now thought to be at the centre of a £10million bidding war between rival channels, with Andrew Neil’s GB News – set to launch later this year – favourite to snap up the unapologetically opinionated presenter.
Andrew himself has openly admitted to wanting to snap Piers up.
Life Stories is available to stream on the ITV Hub now.
