RuPaul’s Drag Race UK: Who is Tayce’s dad and when was he in Wham?

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s Tayce gave Ru and Michelle Visage a shock during the finale by casually mentioning that his father was previously a member of Wham!

Who is Tayce’s dad Roger Radix?

Roger Radix is a session musician and one of the first stars to play bass guitar for George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley in Wham!

He performed on tracks including their 1982 smash Young Guns (Go For It!).

However Dion Estus was the band’s main bass player, who would continue to collaborate with the band throughout the rest of their career.

Speaking about their relationship, Tayce credited his mum and dad for always being supportive of his ventures.

‘He’s always been one of my biggest supporters,’ the finalist said. ‘My first single I bought on a physical CD was Moulin Rouge – Lady Marmalade. Lil Kim, Christina… and I remember just walking into my dad’s work office and just being like “Dad, listen to this!”

‘I was always prancing around in wigs, they fully let me go and just let me be myself, and I’ve just always been so blessed and privileged.

‘I have so many friends that have literally been kicked out because they’re gay and don’t speak to their family at all and are so estranged, so that’s something that I really take seriously, and I’m so proud of.’

Who won RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 2?

Tayce made it to the Drag Race UK finals, joining Ellie Diamond, Bimini Bon Boulash and Lawrence Chaney in the top four.

In the final episode, the group all needed to create their own verse for RuPaul’s A Little Bit Of Love, with Ellie being eliminated after the final runway.

This left Tayce, Bimini and Lawrence to lip-sync for the crown, performing to I’m Still Standing by Elton John.

Lawrence was then declared the winner in the tight competition.
