The Rock responds to WWE’s Undertaker calling him Hollywood ‘C-lister’
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has responded after WWE legend The Undertaker called him a Hollywood ‘C-Lister’.
It’s been a long time now since the former world champion swapped the squared circle for film studios, and he’s gone on to become one of the biggest movie stars on the planet.
Of course, his old WWE rival knows that all too well – but he still couldn’t resist a cheeky tongue in cheek dig at his friend when he was asked about whether or not he’d had his own big screen aspirations over the years.
Appearing on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, Taker said: ‘Hollywood and crossing over like that, which I’ve got nothing against guys who do – jury’s still out on whether it worked for Rock or not, I don’t know… He’s gonna be alright.’
As the hosts laughed along with the Dead Man, they joked that he’s probably got a GoFundMe page set up to help out.
‘Something like that,’ Undertaker quipped. ‘You know, he’s a C-lister.’
It was all very good natured, and Dwayne seemed to take it that way as he shared the clip with his own Twitter followers and admitted this kind of humour is one of the reasons the pair get on so well.
He wrote: ‘Hahaha one of the many reasons I love my big brother, Take… Great sense of humor. Absolute beast in the ring and the most athletically gifted big man to ever wrestle and grace our squared circle.
‘An honor to get my ass kicked by him over the years #CList4L (sic)’
As if there was any doubt Undertaker – whose real name is Mark Calaway – meant his comment as a joke, it comes after he recently backed his pal to succeed if he runs for the United States presidency.
He told TMZ: ‘That man works his tail off and he dives in wholeheartedly in everything that he does and if he gets his mindset that he wants to make a run at politics, ya know what? I think he’ll do it.’
The Dead Man – who officially retired and bid farewell to WWE at Survivor Series last year – also suggested Dwayne has what it takes to help the country heal after years of division.
He admitted: ‘I think so. He’s so charming, he’s so witty, I think he can be the uniter that people are looking for.
‘I know that he has the charisma. Maybe all it would take would be one eyebrow, and he’d look at the left, raise the eyebrow. Look at the right, raise an eyebrow and hit ’em with ‘the People’s Elbow…’
Undertaker’s comments come after Dwayne made it clear he’s serious about a move into politics if it’s ‘what the people want’.
He recently said: ‘I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted. Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer.
‘That would be up to the people… So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.’
