Will Stephen Curry Play Tonight? Golden State Warriors vs Memphis Grizzlies: Injury Updates, Lineup and Game Prediction

Warriors' Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors had a perfect recovery game against the lost cause, the Houston Rockets, after their humiliating loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Rockets lost 108-94 and have worsened their condition with an 11-28 record.

However, at 21-20, the Warriors are still hoping to make the cut for the playoffs. They are standing ninth in the Western Conference and if it wasn’t for Stephen Curry, they wouldn’t be anywhere near the postseason. But it seems like luck isn’t on their side and Steph Curry might be sitting out of their next matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Golden State Warriors: Injury updates and lineup prediction

The Warriors have had a wobbly return from the All-Star break. They lost two out of four of the games, but they did just destroy the Houston Rockets with Draymond Green leading the way. It was his third triple-double of the season as he recorded 16 points,12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

However, this matchup led to Stephen Curry getting injured. The superstar took a hard fall after shooting from the arc and now has an injury on his tailbone. Even though the issue doesn’t seem to be long-lasting, he is listed as day-to-day for this game. The problem does not end here, though.

Along with Steph, Kelly Oubre Jr. is also doubtful. Then come James Wiseman and Eric Paschall, who have been ruled out for at least seven days before they can return. This could mean that the Warriors might lose a win that would have been a piece of cake for them.

With that, the predicted lineup would be Damion Lee, Kevon Looney, Draymond Green, Kent Bazemore, and Andrew Wiggins.

Memphis Grizzlies: Injury updates and lineup prediction

In terms of wins after the All-Star break, the Grizzlies are in the same boat as the Warriors. Having won only two of their four games, they are standing tenth in the West with an 18-19 record.

Their last outing against the Miami Heat ended with a W on their tally as they defeated them 95-89. It was Ja Morant, who came to their rescue in the clutch moments of the game and finished the night with 13 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds.

The Grizzlies will once again be without Jaren Jackson Jr., who hasn’t played a single game this season. With no specific timeline for his return, the Grizzlies will have to climb their way up without him.

With that, the predicted lineup would be Dillon Brooks, Jonas Valanciunas, Kyle Anderson, Ja Morant, and Grayson Allen.

Game prediction

Even without so many of their key players, the Warriors are a better team. But we’ve seen them lose at times with Steph Curry on the court. So expect this to be a head-to-head matchup, with the Grizzlies making it tough for the Warriors but the Dubs still coming out victorious in this two-game mini-series.
