Alexander Zverev Inches Closer Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray in a Unique Record
Alexander Zverev has often shown sparks of being the one to take the baton from the big four of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray. He is still only 23 years old and already has a Grand Slam final to his name and has 13 titles as well. He has now reached his 23rd career final, putting him in an elite list that is headed by the big 4.
Zverev will play his 23rd career final at ATP Acapulco 2021 tomorrow. He has already won 13 titles out of 22 finals and is looking for a 14th title in Mexico.
Being only 23, Zverev has now reached the fifth-most career finals before reaching his 24th birthday. On top of the record is Rafael Nadal, who reached 56 finals before turning 24.
Zverev reached his first final in 2016, aged 19. And now, in five years, he has reached 23 finals. At the top of the list, Nadal reached his first final in 2004, aged 17.
Followed by Nadal next in line is Roger Federer. The Swiss master reached 47 finals before his 24th birthday in 2005. And third on the list is Novak Djokovic. The Serb isn’t far from Federer with 42 finals before turning 24.
Capping off the big four train is Andy Murray, who reached 30 finals. And now Zverev slots in fifth with 23 finals.

Among Zverev’s 23 finals there is a single Grand Slam final and ATP Finals. Furthermore, he has reached seven ATP Masters 1000 tournament finals, five ATP 500 series finals, and eight ATP 250 series final. So a major chunk of Zverev’s finals have come in the three important tournaments: Grand Slams, ATP Finals, ATP Masters 1000.
Zverev will now play ATP Acapulco Final against Stefanos Tsitsipas. The German is yet to lose a set in the tournament. Who would win Alexander Zverev or Stefanos Tsitsipas?
