Ex On The Beach star Ashley Cain delighted as daughter says ‘dadda’ for first time amid cancer battle
Ashley Cain couldn’t hide his delight as baby daughter Azaylia said ‘dadda’ for the very first time.
The six-month-old has been battling cancer, with the Ex On The Beach favourite documenting her hospital visits on his social media page.
And he had something to smile about as the adorable little one uttered a word while they played together.
Taking to Instagram, the 30-year-old shared a video of Azaylia that his family had captured over FaceTime.
He could be heard shouting in delight over her gurgles.
‘I JUST GOT MY FIRST DADDA!!!,’ the reality star captioned the sweet video.
‘I can’t believe my mum and sister were recording me playing with Azaylia over FaceTime and she popped up with this!
‘That has honestly made my entire week!’
The comments below the post were flooded with love, as fans and famous pals rushed to congratulate the tot on her milestone.
‘Aww such a clever little lady,’ an Instagram user posted.
‘Oh wow! So cute and amazing that you got it on camera,’ a follower agreed.
As another added: ‘Omgggggg you are such an amazing daddy Azaylia is so lucky.’
Ashley and girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee’s first child was diagnosed with a ‘rare and aggressive’ form of cancer known as AML (acute myeloid leukaemia) shortly after she was born.
In February, the new dad made the heartbreaking announcement that her cancer had returned.
Speaking about her condition in a recent Instagram video, he opened up about how he had been coping, telling fans: ‘A lot of people have said that I’m motivational but the truth is, I haven’t been motivational or inspirational for myself recently.
‘I think coming home put me in a comfort zone in some kind of way and it took me out of my routine at the hospital.’
‘Also with the added trauma on my mind of my daughter’s leukaemia coming back, it’s been difficult. The last couple of weeks have been very mentally challenging and I’ve done what I never do, I let myself slip.
‘It’s all because I haven’t kept my standards, I haven’t been tenacious with the way I go through life. I’ve sat back and I’ve allowed myself to get in my comfort zone and that is the worst thing you can do. Nothing was ever achieved in a comfort zone.’
‘My daughter needs me at 150%,’ Ashley added. ‘That means, I need to do whatever I can do in my power to make myself that level so that I can transfer that energy onto her.
‘If I eat right, if I sleep right, if I train right, and if I keep pushing towards my goals in life, that makes me the top of my game.’
