From Huge Title Change to The Fiend’s Return, Five Shocking Moments that Might Happen at WWE Fastlane 2021

The ultimate stop on the Road to WrestleMania is here. WWE Fastlane can have massive ramifications for the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’, from surprise returns to massive title changes. Here are five shocking moments that can change the landscape of WWE, three weeks from WrestleMania.

New Women’s Tag Team Champions

WWE has not booked Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair to look like opponents at all. By teaming them up, they have eliminated the opportunity for actual heat to generate. Instead, they are in a game of one-upmanship, when in fact they should be trying to soften the other ahead of their WrestleMania clash.

In order to make their WrestleMania clash more exciting, WWE could put the Women’s Tag Titles on them. Sacrificing Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will be an unpopular decision, but when have unpopular decisions changed WWE’s WrestleMania plans?

Retribution implodes!

Remember the time Retribution were supposed to be the biggest threat on Raw. From biggest threat to biggest joke, the doomed faction is on the verge of a split. Their leader, Ali, has expressed his frustration with the group multiple times after they’ve failed to help him win.

At Fastlane, Ali has another opportunity to win the United States Championship from Matt Riddle. After his loss on Raw, Ali admonished his teammates again. If he loses at Fastlane, one can expect the faction to come to blows.

Sheamus shocks McIntyre at WWE Fastlane

The feud between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus is more physical than personal. Both men have tried to beat the other into oblivion on three different occasions. They clashed in the Elimination Chamber and twice on Raw, with McIntyre winning one of those bouts.

At Fastlane, Sheamus can prove his doubters wrong and finally emerge out of McIntyre’s shadow. The No Holds Barred stipulation favours both men, but Sheamus’ experience could give him the upper hand this Sunday. If the Celtic Warrior wins, it could change the scene for the upcoming WWE Championship match between Bobby Lashley and McIntyre at WrestleMania.

WWE Fastlane becomes the Firefly Funhouse

The Fiend has been absent since TLC 2020 where Randy Orton barbecue’d him. Since then, his demonic friend/partner/playdate Alexa Bliss has tortured the poor Viper and made his life a living hell. She’s burned Orton’s face, made him cough up blood and cost him matches against Edge, AJ Styles and Drew McIntyre in a gauntlet match.

On Raw, Bliss challenged the Viper to a match at Fastlane which Orton accepted. This will be the first intergender match in WWE since Becky Lynch vs James Ellsworth on SmackDown in 2016. Fastlane is the perfect place for The Fiend to return and challenge Orton to a match at WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns loses the Universal Championship at WWE Fastlane

Edge vs Roman Reigns has been the best booked match for WrestleMania. It is shocking considering there’s a very good chance Reigns won’t make it to WrestleMania as champion. He faces Daniel Bryan at Fastlane with his WrestleMania opponent Edge as the special guest enforcer.

Edge’s presence at ringside might change the landscape for WrestleMania. Both Bryan and Reigns are worthy of main eventing WrestleMania, but only one will make it there. How shocking would it be if three weeks before WrestleMania, the main event receives a big change?
