Luke Evans has clearly had a very productive lockdown after unveiling the incredible results of his weight loss journey.

The Clash of the Titans actor showed his social media followers just how far he’s come in his mission to drop the quarantine pounds with a before and after of where he started last summer to the finished results.

Alongside a photo of his newly-ripped physique, Luke said: ‘8 months of work but I got there. June 2020 – February 2021.’

Pre-empting any trolls, he added: ‘I won’t bother putting statistics as the judges will only judge. #fbf #nearly42.’

It seems Luke was determined to achieve his desired body in time for his 42nd birthday in April.

Showering the actor with flattering comments, one of his Instagram followers commented: ‘Nearly 42 going on 28 or 29.’

‘You’re gorgeous either way. What matters is that you are happy with yourself ❤️,’ another said sweetly.

One other follower chimed in: ‘Any athlete knows that is some SERIOUS, DEDICATED work!!! 👏🔥🙌 Excellent mate!’

Luke, 41, previously opened up about the things he struggles to give up when trying to get into shape.

Speaking to Men’s Health in 2014, he explained: ‘When I’m training hard the diet is miserable.

‘I love my food and I like wine and it’s really tough. What I miss most is alcohol. When everyone is having a drink and you can’t it stops you going out as much. Booze is a nightmare for empty calories and you can’t train the day after. Socialising and enjoying a night out — not doing that is the hard bit.’

He added: ‘It’s good for your body to have a break. Even when you’re training you have to have a cheat day every week. The body reacts better to training if you give it intervals of not training or you relax the diet.’

Interestingly, Luke said he didn’t feel the need to be ‘super-ripped all year round’ as it’s a ‘pretty miserable way to live your life’ but, of course, a lot can change in seven years.
