Quavo ‘disappointed’ as Saweetie hints at ‘betrayal’ in break-up statement: ‘You are not the woman I thought you were’

Quavo has responded after Saweetie confirmed their split and alluded to infidelity, saying he is ‘disappointed’ in his ex. 

The My Type rapper confirmed she was no longer dating the Migos star on Friday as rumours of their break-up continued to mount. 

Declaring herself ‘single’, Saweetie tweeted: ‘I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character.’ 

She then sparked cheating speculation, adding: ‘Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.’ 

Quavo hit back: ‘I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.’ 

Saweetie replied simply: ‘Take care.’ 

Rumours of the couple’s split emerged after a clip circulated on social media from an interview where Saweetie speaks about a guy who ‘broke her heart’, while stating she ‘doesn’t like liars’. 

Eagle-eyed fans had also noticed that Saweetie and Quavo no longer followed each other. 

In July, Quavo revealed how the couple began dating in 2018 and told GQ: ‘I seen her on my Explore page. I was like, “Damn! Who is this?” So I did my research and I DM her.

‘I was like, “How she going to call herself icy and she don’t talk to me?” So I slid in her DM, [and] I told her, “You an icy girl, you need a glacier boy”.’ 

Saweetie admitted the attraction was instant with the rapper and told People in January: ‘I liked him before he even knew me. He was my only celebrity crush. I always thought he was fine. I liked his voice. I thought he was sexy.

‘I think the reason why we’ve lasted so long is because we’re like friends who are really, really, really attracted to each other. I think that’s what keeps it fun. It keeps it different. We’re able to really just kick it. Like wherever, whenever.’
