George Russell Uses Hilarious Ways to Express His Disappointment With Netflix Drive to Survive Season 3

The third season of Netflix’s Drive to Survive missed out on capturing quite a few important incidents took place last season, with George Russell stepping in for COVID-struck Lewis Hamilton being one of them. Fans were quite displeased with the series’ decision to skip the Sakhir GP, and so was Russell himself.

The Briton was set to clinch his maiden win in F1 until a botched pitstop and puncture forced him to finish in a lowly ninth place. Even though it didn’t end well, the race weekend was still glorious, as Russell showed his true mettle and potential to be a future world champion.

Thus, with such a positive storyline being looked over, Russell took to Twitter to show his disappointment of not being a part of the third installment of the series.

George Russell shares his disappointment to being included in the third season

Many fans of the sport wanted to see Russell’s move to Mercedes for the Sakhir Grand Prix, but like Russell, they too were disappointed of him not being part of the show.

Surprisingly, the series also failed to capture the departure of the Williams family from the grid. The iconic family left the sport after the Italian Grand Prix in September of last year.

Even though they had poor performances in their last few years on the sport, Williams were the last family-owned team in F1. And given their glorious history, they deserved a proper send-off.

Russell remains concerned about Williams going into the new season

Williams fielded a lackluster car last year and failed to secure even a single point throughout the season. Russell managed to get the car into Q2 more often than not, but there was only so much he could do. Thus, the British driver is skeptical about how they will perform in the upcoming championship.

He said, “These conditions sort of brought out the worst in this car, and we anticipated that before, so there’re no signs as yet that we’ve closed the gap. But I think there will be a big swing for us, I think you will see quite a yo-yo effect for us this season.”

Russell added, “I think we’ll be faster at events and maybe very slow at others. And as I said, these conditions in these past three days are the worst conditions we’d like to see for our race car.”

Under new ownership, the Williams team hope they can start this year with a renewed spirit that helps them score some points. They have two talented drivers in the form of Russell and Nicholas Latifi, and hopefully, the start of a new decade also marks the start of a new era for them.
