Ollie Locke has announced the wonderful news that he has begun the surrogacy journey with his husband.

The Made In Chelsea star has previously expressed his desire to start a family with husband Gareth and now confirms they’ve found a surrogate.

In an Instagram post, Ollie explained: ‘So I think it might be the time to tell you all! Gareth and I are very much on our surrogacy journey to become fathers.

‘We are very nearly there, with the help of the best person we could ever ask for! (you know who you are, our heavenly surrogate).’

Ollie, 33, revealed that he and Gareth have endured months of ‘difficult’ planning and legal formalities but will soon travel to America with their surrogate where they will hopefully become pregnant.

However, he noted that fertility circumstances do not count as essential travel so will likely have to wait until restrictions ease.

The reality star continued: ‘Whatever happens and through the ups and downs, we are going to take you all on our journey.

‘We have waited for a long time to share this news, but… we felt it was a hugely important discussion telling our story of how a couple that love each other, and desperately wants a family are becoming parents!’

He then teased that fans will be able to follow their surrogacy journey through future episodes of Made In Chelsea, social media and other TV platforms.

‘We will all go through this together and we couldn’t be more excited to become parents,’ he promised.

Ollie and Locke married last year at London’s Natural History Museum in front of 13 guests, including bridesmaids Binky Felstead and Olivia Bentley.

The couple organised the event with just 48 hours’ notice before the second national lockdown began in England in early November.

Last year, Ollie revealed that he and Gareth wanted to start a family immediately after getting married.

The TV star told Hello! magazine in December: ‘As soon as you say “I do”, it’s the start of a great adventure. And this is something that we have wanted for a long time. Now let’s see if we can create a family – that’s the next stage.’
