Stacey Solomon reveals she’s begun search for dream wedding dress ahead of July ceremony
Stacey Solomon has already begun the search for her wedding dress, as she prepares to wed fiancé Joe Swash later this year.
The Loose Women star, 31, confirmed her engagement to former EastEnders actor Joe, 39, in December, after he popped the question on Christmas Eve.
The couple, who have been dating since 2015, have wasted no time in setting a date for the big day, with Stacey revealing last month that she and Joe will be getting married in July
By then, weddings should be allowed to go ahead with no restrictions, if the government’s roadmap to ease the country out of lockdown goes to plan, and Stacey is making sure she’s prepared.
She revealed to The Mirror’s Notebook that she is already on the hunt for the perfect bridal gown and can’t wait until shops re-open, so she can start to try on some designs.
‘At least we’re coming out of lockdown and you can get into shops to look at stuff – that would be so nice. And to be able to try on a wedding dress,’ Stacey said. ‘Imagine, I might not be able to try it on until the day.’
While she didn’t reveal details when it came to what she has in mind for her wedding dress, Stacey did say that she’s already started working on ideas.
The former X Factor star said: ‘I’ve sent some ideas, but the lady recommended trying different stuff on. She said, “The things you think will suit you will end up being the things you hate.”
‘She took my measurements and said when she sees me she’ll pull a lot of stuff out, then I’ll decide on the shape and the style.’
Stacey revealed that lockdown has made her want to get married in the UK, after previously considering eloping, and she’s hopeful that all her friends and family will be able to attend.
She wrote on Instagram: ‘I used to think I wanted to run away and elope, but after losing family members this year, I could not feel more opposite…
‘One of the main reasons we’d love to get married as soon as we can is because there’s special people in our lives that will not be around forever.
‘And I would do anything to share our day with them. Especially knowing already how much we will miss those that can’t be there.’
She added that she has found her ‘dream venue’, but was in the process of finding out if it could for the date she and Joe have planned in July.
It’s set to be a busy few months for the mum-of-three, as Stacey revealed on Instagram that she and Joe have just purchased their ‘forever’ home.
She confirmed that the pair are moving and explained: ‘We didn’t want to say anything until it was right at the last minute because with any sale/purchase anything can fall through right up until the last minute, so we just wanted it to be definite or as close to before saying anything.’
Stacey revealed: ‘For a very long time Joe and me have been searching for our forever home, further from the city and closer to our family… A few months ago we saw a house that we couldn’t even believe was on the market and in the same budget as our house now.
‘There were SO many signs. I really believe in signs and they were everywhere and it just didn’t seem real.’
‘Today we got confirmation that everything could go ahead and it was actually going to happen…I think we just thought for so long that something would go wrong so today just didn’t feel real. But it is real, the house needs lots of love and TLC which we can not wait to shower it with…But Pickle Cottage is going to be ours. And we honestly can not [wait] to start this new start together.’
