The Voice winner Craig Eddie reveals crucial piece of advice from new coach Anne-Marie
The Voice 2021 champion Craig Eddie has shared one piece of crucial advice his coach Anne-Marie gave to him as he sailed through the competition.
The Scottish singer beat Okulaja, Hannah Williams and Grace Holden to the crown in last night’s finale and his single Come Waste My Time is currently number two in the iTunes charts.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk after his victory, Craig lifted the lid on his working relationship with Anne- Marie, who joined the panel this year as Meghan Trainor’s replacement, and how she helped him throughout the series.
‘I think I got and got too fixated on getting through to the next stage and I got to the point where I probably wasn’t enjoying it as much as I could,’ Craig told us. ‘So she [Anne-Marie] told me to just look around, to take everything in and to enjoy the experience.
‘She said, “Always remember that you’re doing something that you love and it’s a privilege.”’
Craig added: ‘Anne-Marie has definitely taught me to step back and to evaluate everything.’
Craig performed his new track during last night’s show.
‘It’s a song that I wrote myself subconsciously,’ he said, adding that he managed to write it in just 10 minutes.
‘I think that’s where the best songs come from,’ Craig added. ‘I think I was writing off just raw emotion after getting my heart broken.’
Eddie’s original song Come Waste My Time is out now.
The Voice is available for catch-up on the ITV Hub.
