Can I watch live TV on All4?
We’re living in an ever-increasing on-demand world where the TV guide is something of a relic.
Long gone are the days where everyone would tune in to watch the same thing at the same time and have those watercooler chats the next day.
Still, that doesn’t mean that every now and then you want to catch a TV show as it airs live – it makes avoiding spoilers much easier, which is one immediate benefit.
If you haven’t got a TV set and watch most of your content online – through a laptop, tablet or phone – can you still watch live TV?
What about some of your favourite Channel 4 content, like Gogglebox and First Dates?
Can I watch live TV on All4?
You can watch live TV through the All4 app.
If you’re watching any live TV you will need a television licence – even if you’re not watching it through an actual TV set – but apart from that, you can watch most live content through the mobile app and web browser.
You can watch live content shown across all of Channel 4’s channels, including Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film4.

Can I watch everything live on All4?
When you go to watch something live through All4 on a laptop or tablet, you may get a screen saying Channel 4 can’t broadcast the content through the website.
This is because, as Channel 4’s website states, that ‘No, unfortunately we don’t have the rights to show all our programmes on Watch Live.’
This is a common legal occurrence across other online broadcasters. iPlayer, for example, might also at times prevent a live broadcast of something online.
Their website states: ‘When this happens, it’s most likely because we’re broadcasting a film or sporting event for which we don’t have the online rights.’
