Jedward will be shaving off their iconic blonde quiff hairstyles on TV to raise money for a good cause.

The former X Factor stars made the announce on Twitter on Tuesday, saying they will have the dramatic makeover on Irish talk programme The Late Late Show.

In a video shared on social media John said: ‘We are on The Late Late Show this week shaving off our quiffs to raise much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society.’

His brother Edward added: ‘We hope all the funds raise will contribute to a cancer-free future, this is such a good cause.

‘We’re sending so much strength and love to all those suffering with cancer.’

Their mum Susanna died in 2019 with the pair writing a heartfelt tribute to her on Instagram.

They said: ‘You lived with cancer for many years but your passing was unexpected because you had overcome so many struggles and health complications.

‘Mammy taught us how to deal with life and never let anyone say a bad word about us and always stood up for us and to take on life by being a free spirit. Mammy you had the Determination that we will take into our lives. Mammy had all the character of who she was up until her last breath.

‘Mammy’s life doesn’t end here because everything she was, lives on through all of us in our memories.

‘Today is not just a goodbye but a celebration of a great person for making us smile, for looking after us all and brightening our life.

‘You will be missed to infinity ❤️ Thinking of you always, John, Edward and Kevin your three sons.’

The twin brothers found fame on The X Factor in 2009 and were managed by Louis Walsh.

They released four albums including Planet Jedward and Voice of a Rebel, and appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2011 and 2017.

Since then they have been vocal on social media with their criticism of people spreading coronavirus misinformation during the pandemic.

They also pleasantly surprised many by participating in the Black Lives Matter demonstrations in Los Angeles last year.
