Kim Kardashian throws support behind ‘my baby’ Demi Lovato as she hails star’s tell-all documentary a ‘must see’
Kim Kardashian was seen throwing her support behind her pal Demi Lovato, as she stopped by the drive-in premiere of the singer’s YouTube documentary.
Demi, 28, bares all in her tell-all film, titled Dancing With The Devil, that drops on YouTube on Tuesday and sees her making multiple shocking and heartbreaking revelations, as she opens up about her 2018 overdose and being sexually assaulted.
The Heart Attack hit-maker hosted an outdoor premiere the night before the release of her documentary, which saw her perform on stage and was attended by a whole host of stars.
Kim was among the celebrities that stopped by and was seen hanging out with Demi – who had performed on stage on the night – before the doc aired on a huge screen in front of parked cars.
Sharing a clip of Demi singing, Kim showed her support for the former X Factor USA judge and called her ‘my baby’.
She shared a selfie with Demi, with both stars wearing face masks in the photo, and hailed her documentary a ‘must see’.
Demi told Kim, who recently filed for divorce from husband Kanye: ‘I love you SM thank you for coming.’
Speaking ahead of the release of her docu-series, Demi explained why she wanted to be so honest when it came to telling her story.
‘I talk about a lot. The world has been so loving and accepting of me telling my story and just, there’s been so much love and support,’ she told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.
‘What’s great is we live in a time when nobody’s perfect, and we’re not gonna get role models by watching people not make mistakes.’
‘We are going to meet and learn from our role models who have overcome their deepest darkest struggles and I wanted to show everyone — first I wanted to set the record straight [because] a lot of stories were going around that time that didn’t really know what exactly had happened,’ Demi said referring to her overdoes three years ago.
She added: ‘I just wanted to tell the world, “Hey, this is what happened, this is how I got through it, and hopefully this can help you too”. Because this journey has been such a wild ride but I’ve learned so much and I can’t wait to share it with the world.’
Dancing With The Devil will chart the period in Demi’s life when she relapsed after six years of sobriety. She overdosed at her home in LA and was rushed to hospital, where she stayed for two weeks.
Demi then checked into an in-patient rehab to continue her recovery and is now dealing with permanent side effects from brain damage, including blind spots in her vision and difficulty reading.
Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil will premiere on YouTube on March 23.
