Country music star Taylor Dee has died aged 33 in a rollover car crash.

The rising country music singer died on March 14 following a car accident on State Highway 183 near Euless, Texas.

According to the Euless City Police Department, Dee, born Taylor Dawn Carroll, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer at around 10pm when she attempted to make a lane change and missed the turn.

Dee crashed into the cushion barrier and her car flipped into the air, hitting an overhead sign with its roof on the way down.

Dee was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, and was ‘found outside the vehicle a short distance away in grave condition’.

She was transported from the scene to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

A second passenger, a 36-year-old man, was found outside the car with non-life-threatening injuries, and was discharged from hospital on March 15.

An investigation is currently ongoing and a toxicology screen is being performed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, although police noted that it does not appear there will be any criminal charges in relation to the accident.

In a GoFundMe to help pay for Dee’s funeral, the singer was described as a ‘shining star’.

The fundraiser, which has raised over $12,000 so far, read: ‘Taylor Carroll aka Taylor Dee was a shining star who was going to make it in this world and chasing her dreams like the rest of us wish we could. She was a great mother of two beautiful children that she will be leaving behind. She could make you laugh about the craziest things.

‘Her spirit was so free and she had a voice that the angels could hear. She had your back even when you didn’t know it. Her laugh is something you can hear when she says LOL. She will be forever loved and missed.

‘She left this world sooner than any of us were ready for. Please help our family be able to lay her to rest. Keep Singing and Fly High 07/16/87-03/14/21.’

In a statement to KTVT, Linda Wilson, president of the Texas Country Music Association, said: ‘Taylor Dee was the real deal — a true talent with a heart and passion not only for her music but for people.

‘In every performance, her talent was evident, but more importantly she allowed her fans to know her heart. She will be missed tremendously.’

Dee had released a number of singles, starting with The Buzz in 2019.

Her last track, Top Shelf Liquor, was released on her YouTube channel two months ago.

Dee is survived by her two children, son Vayden and daughter River.
