Thomas Middleditch’s Silicon Valley co-star Alice Wetterlund says she ‘warned us’ amid sexual misconduct allegations

Silicon Valley star Alice Wetterlund has responded to allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against her former co-star Thomas Middleditch this week, claiming she tried to ‘warn’ us.

This week Middleditch – best known for his role as Richard Hendricks in the HBO series – was named in a Los Angeles Times exposé and accused of ‘groping’ a female employee of LA spot Cloak & Dagger, as well as allegedly pursuing her despite her dismissing his advances.

The report named multiple women who claimed they were victims of sexual misconduct at the hands of several men at the now-shuttered Hollywood Goth club.

Middleditch is yet to respond to the allegations.

However his former co-star Wetterlund – who appeared as Carla Walton in six episodes – has shared her own message in regards to the claims against the series’ star.

She tweeted after the exposé had come to light: ‘Tried to warn you all about Middleditch but noooooo.

‘Not everyone’s favorite tinyman who looks like he lives in a clock! (sic)’

In the report, 10 women – four of which were Cloak & Dagger’s past employees – claimed that the club’s co-founders had ignored accusations of harassment from members.

According to the report, Hannah Harding alleged Middleditch ‘made lewd sexual overtures toward her and her girlfriend’ in 2019 and despite her ‘turning him down’ it’s alleged ‘he kept pursuing her, groping her in front of her friends and several employees’.

The club’s operations manager, Kate Morgan said she asked her bosses to kick the actor out and ban him, but claimed they ‘didn’t seem to take it seriously’, telling the publication: ‘I felt like they dismissed it.’

The publication cited Instagram DM’s allegedly sent from Middleditch to Harding in which he said he was unaware his actions ‘were that weird’ for her and that he was ‘so ashamed’ he made her uncomfortable.

It’s not the first time Wetterlund has addressed press Middleditch has received, previously speaking out following the actor’s revelation in an interview with Playboy that he had a ‘swinger’ lifestyle with then-wife Mollie Gates, with the article also mentioning them sleeping with his female fans.

Wetterlund tweeted at the time: ‘The shocker here for me was that he HAS female fans?!?’

In 2017 fellow Silicon Valley star TJ Miller denied allegations of sexual assault, with Middleditch chiming in and calling the #MeToo movement a ‘scary’ and ‘tricky thing’ for men. Wetterlund also shared her own thoughts, labelling Miller a ‘bully’ and calling her Silicon Valley co-stars out for being ‘complicit in his unprofessionalism’.

Silicon Valley was nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards across its six seasons and wrapped in December 2019.
